No, it had been adjusted for that aspect as against other vegetarian populations; I remember that much and that from there they went to looking at individual different components, with turmeric truning out to be very exciting according to the article.

What I can't recall is if turmeric was thought, or found (or neither) to have an anti-inflammatory effect on the lower GI tract. If so, and if it is safe for ferrets I want to talk with out vet about possibly adding it to the routine for Scooter whose problems are up again. (Nor can I recall how early this work is, so it may still be preliminary and not hold up in later studies. Never-the-less, Tootie is scary sometimes and it may be one of those "what the heck" types of things to try if safe, so I've also got a note out to a veterinary nutritionist to ask if he knows of possible risks.
