Hi Mike
Thank you for pointing this post out to me. I had it saved but didn't find
it in the folder... The last thing I want to do is cause Vicky to develop
diabetes... That is really difficult now. Dr Murray wrote to me so I have
asked him what he thinks I should do. Vicky has only been showing clinical
signs for one or two months so I need to know whether that could mean that
her pancreas is still likely to be active and still producing insulin or
whether that doesn't matter and that her insulin producing cells could
already been deactivated (if that's the right term)... I've put Vicky on
pred today, Dr Murray said he would put her on pred shortly before surgery
to stabilise her blood glucose so that's what I did and if she doesn't have
surgery then she still needs pred anyway. She now has constant low sugars,
before food, after food, she's even gone downhill in the one week that I've
had her...
