It does sound like vet examination is in order. Can you pay on time or arrange to exchange labor for care?
If not, I still think that you shoudl at least call your vet's office and ask for a call-back. In case it is simply an infection rather than an adrenal growth ask about at least cleaning it with Xenodyne.
