Hi everyone, I have
a question for you. I have a 6 year old female who has been diagnosed
with Insulinoma and Adrenal disease. She has had surgery to remove the
left adrenal. Most of the right adrenal was removed at the same time,
but the vet was unable to remove all of the right adrenal as it was too
close to the Vena cava . This was approximately 2 years ago. I took her
back to the vet 5 months ago because she was losing weight and of course
hair. Also her belly was distended. Her appetite is fine and she is
drinking plenty of water. The vet told me that the right adrenal has
grown back, and it is wrapped around the vena cava. All I can do is make
her comfortable and continue her medicine, which is pred. for the
insulinoma .20cc 2x a day. He also gave her a Lupron shot and told me
that it might help. I look at my little Belle who is one of the sweetest
ferrets and I feel like there is more that I should do for her . She is
eating and drinking fine, she sleeps all the time. Please let me know if
I have any other options. Thank you,
Mary.
