I have always used the orange kitten dose of Advantage, dividing the vial between 2 or 3 ferrets. My last trip to the vet I got the purple cat dosage and told me that each ferret should get 1 drop/pound.
We have had no problems in the past with Advantage, although we did have reactions from some others. one of the nice things is that it is a topical treatment. If your ferret reacts, you can wash most of it off with soap and water. If this isn't enough, ANY vet can treat it the same as they would a cat or dog having a topical agent reaction.
