My question about the dosage is whether a ferret dose would be the same as a human dose. The bottle that Diane has says that a dose is 1mg. Dr. Murray said that a ferret dose is 1mg. Do people and small animals really get the same dose? This just concerns me some since most ferrets don't get the same amount of medication as a human, given the huge weight difference. Maybe my problem is that I am considering melatonin a medication and it's not. Just looking for input. I don't want to give Diane the wrong information.

Russell, Diane bought the melatonin. I was just trying to help her on the dosage. I'm sure she will see your post and may reconsider the type that she bought. Sounds a lot easier to just mix the powder with a treat of some sort than to try to get 4ml down a fussy ferret.
