I need some suggestions for a sick little 8 month old male ferret I've had
here for five weeks.
When he got diarrhea she had put him on soy milk,
He has very small poops, maybe like 1/2 tsp. at a time. Never black and
tarry, but a few times very dark brown and sticky. Sometimes very thin, like
stringy I guess.
Now his poops are even less, sometimes like they have mucus in them. He also
tried to throw up a couple times yesterday

MJO....
Boy you sure do have your hands full it seems. I know this may sound odd, as
you have been working to alleviate the diarrhea, yet I have to say that a
blockage came to mind. Could it possibly be that due to the fact that his
previous owner only had him on soy milk that he was extremely hungry and
could have possibly ingested something? He was able to pass things due to
the diarrhea, but when you got that under control the actual problem
appeared? I could be way off here, but if he has a blockage certainly it
would account for his ill being and could have been easily masked due to the
loose stools.
Personally, I just wanted to say too, that I think it is great that you took
this little one in and are doing so much for him. Hopefully things will turn
out for the best for him and you will have one grateful little ferret on your
hands.
Sincerely, Tina
