He's obviously in a lot of pain. I really can't understand why they would say don't worry about it. Besides the pain, it's open to infection. I would definitely worry about it and get him into a vet ASAP. If you've ever had a simple toothache, imagine how he feels. He'll either need a root canal or have it extracted.
