Having at one point had a small, contained burning problem, we DO know that some of the ferrets WILL panic, hide, and not come out. All but one of our's came. That one trusts us for all sorts of other things but this time she panciked and jammed herself under an old desk. That is one reason that we cage at night; waking to an emergency is harder than when light is present. Comes of being the daughter and grandaughter of volunteer firefighters, I guess.
