What tests were done and what were the results? Was the heart
ultrasounded? Were liver and kidney values run? To deal with that
problem you need to find out WHY the ascites or edema is occurring,
so first you need to look for common causes like cardiomyopathy,
kidney disease, liver disease, and symptoms of possible lympho. Then
treatment is based on the type of disease and the level and
particulars of the illness.

Pretty much anything that knocks down a ferret will cause instability
of the hind legs. Sometimes, BTW, in early insulinoma it can be a
bit on and off in symptoms, so it may still be that since it just
began nad a fasting blood glucose test may make sense for this
individual; it certainly pays to do general testing like a CBC plus
Blood Chemistry.
