Hi Russ

Here in the UK the meat is unsafe as well and they say you have to assume
that all meat in contaminated with some bacteria. But it doesn't affect the
ferrets nor cats and dogs. There are many raw feeders in America using
supermarket meat without any ill effects. I was/ am on some BARF lists and
the majority of people were from America, some from Australia and some from
Europe. I've fed raw chicken and beef and rabbit to my ferrets for almost 2
years and nobody has got sick, I even fed it to insulinomic and other sick
ferrets so even the ones with a dodgy immune system didn't get sick from
bacteria. Instead it made a real difference to the ones with insulinoma and
managed the symptoms beautifully, loads better than any other food I tried.
Our little dog is on raw chicken as well and the cat eats it when she feels
like it and nobody with food poisoning...
