Dear Lisa:
Don't be a stoolgazer - the intermittent off-colored stool which is normal in size and consistency is not really something to get worried about. The typical brown color of feces is dependent on a number of factors, including the transit time of the stomach, as well as what the animal is currently eating.
If it becomes a consistent change, and the character of the stool is affected, then you may get concerned.
