"I've been feeding my dogs, cats and sometimes ferrets a raw natural diet
for almost two years without incident. Mostly chicken, turkey, fish and
occassionally beef."

I should have specified that I feed a "raw meaty bone" diet. Not solely
muscle meat. Whole carcasses is what I prefer but is cost prohibitive, soon
I will be raising rabbits for my canines and felines and mice for my
mustelids. ;-)
Dr. Tom Lonsdale wrote an excellent book called "Raw Meaty Bones" and last
weekend I got to go to his seminar. I was the only ferret owner there and
he stressed that ferrets were just as important to be eating a natural diet
of whole carcasses as dogs and cats....and addressed the common fears of
pathogens in meats.
I'll be extremely joyful when I can get my 3 ferts on an exclusively natural
diet.
