Chris, I put old ferrets on raw over night. They were used to kibble for
years. One example is my Jilly, she was 6 years old and had insulinoma, I'd
had her since she was 1 and she had kibble for 5 years and was put on raw
chicken from one day to another. No ill effects! Except her blood glucose
was a lot higher and more stable. Jack was 5 at the time, had kibble *all*
his life and his health was on the dodgy side and he also was fine with the
raw meat. Igor was 6, had a pancreatic tumour and was doing fine on raw
meat. So even older ferrets can be put on a raw diet, even older sick
ferrets, without getting ill from bacteria.
