Interesting idea of using scent in a spray bottle to call a deaf ferret. Watching Puppers in the wind is one of my favorite things to see as being deaf, his other senses do seem heightened. My guys get to play in the backyard (with supervision) as it is all blockwalled in, and when the wind blows, Pup stops, sticks his nose high in the air and dances. He is also the one who loves to go on walks the most -- cars and other unfamiliar sounds don't bother him. He's the only one who appears to recognize his yard from all the others when we've walked around the block because he always turns up the driveway and walks up to the door.
Pup will come to a flashlight, but as Sukie mentioned, doesn't help too much during the day or if he's in a deep sleep, and deaf ferrets do seem to sleep much deeper. I will work on the scent in a spray bottle. Not only will it be interesting, but it could save time (and being late to work) when I'm rounding up the mob in the house and Pup isn't in one of his usual hidey holes.
