Please give my thanks to Dr. Jerry Murray, DVM for the melatonin implant
info. I have forwarded it to my vet. Sorry for the delay in response -
we are still having difficulties with Taz over Sugar's demise. Taz is
also a bilateral adrenalectomy ferret, and the loss of her life
companion has deeply affected her. The vet has ruled out electrolyte
imbalance, low BS, kidney problems, liver problems, foreign bodies, etc.
and feels that her lack of appetite is most probably due to depression.
She has dropped from 730 grams to 690 grams in 6 days - is pooping and
urinating, eating duck soup - if I hold her - but no kibble, and even
refuses raisins. Precious is mothering her, but ...
