Alright, are you ready for the stupidest suggestion ever?

What you need, see, is a tiny studded leather collar. After all, they were originally designed to protect dogs' necks from attack. <g>

Seriously, though, I think allowing them together is key. And if it is truly unsafe because of the strength difference, then maybe protecting B'Elanna's neck with some sort of leather collar should be considered.

When I adopted my little O'Meara from CHS last fall, my deaf Amidala genuinely intended to kill her. I was lucky in that they were both little bitty girls. Amidala drew blood lots of times, but there was no more threat than pain, and I could allow them together.

Months went by with Amidala hating O'Meara, but the severity lessened. Finally, one day I found them curled up together under the couch. What really created a bond between them was the addition of new ferrets (big boys) that took their attention away from eachother (and also displaced Amidala as alpha).

I wonder...if they were both suddenly deposited into an area with lots of ferrets they hadn't met, would they seek eachother's company as, at least, familiar?

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. I wish you the best of luck in acclimating them to eachother. And, if you ever want a ferret-loving cat, just let me know. :)
