To anyone who can help~
I've written Dr. Williams but haven't heard from him yet. I have a male fert,
approx 5 yrs old. Rescue so not positive. Two years ago he had his left
adrenal removed and an object from his stomach. Ten months ago he had a
paptial pancreatectomy. BG went back down into the 40's shortly thereafter.
He's now on 1/4 tab of 5mg pred 2x a day. I give it to him in about a
tablespoon of turkey baby food. Three weeks ago I discovered a bad tooth so I
had his teeth cleaned. At the same time we did bloodwork and xrays. BG 72.
Dr. thought his liver looked a little small then noticed that his ALT was
324. I took him back a week later for more bloodwork. ALT still elevated.
Back again for a sonogram. Everything looked fine. The Dr. said that the ALT
isn't too elevated and wants me to just monitor him for any new developments.
The info I found said that the acceptable ALT range is 13-176. So.......what
do I do next? I haven't found much about the liver so I'm hoping someone here
can help me. His diet consists of a mixture of three kibbles and the turkey
baby food. We've got two others so I'm not sure who eats how much but I do
know that he eats the kibble as well as the baby food. His weight has not
changed. 2lbs. Any help you can provide would be tremendously appreciated.
Thanks so much,
