I apologize, as this is another typical 'suspect adrenal' question, but this would be my first adrenal, and I would welcome your experience to determine where to go with this girl.

I adopted O'Meara from a humane society last fall, of unknown age. Recently (within the last 4-5 weeks), she has developed a small bald spot at the base of her tail, and there is a faint line along her spine where the fur has thinned.

I took her to my (ferret-knowledgeable) vet 2 weeks ago. The vet did not think she was adrenal, though. I'm not exactly sure why, but I suppose just because she has no other symptoms, and is not itchy. The vet prescribed pred and gave her an injection of ivomec. Since this didn't seem to have any effect, I brought her in again today. She still doesn't think she's adrenal, though, and says to continue the pred and added Clavamox for the next 10 days or so.

The vet says if she is still the same in 2 weeks, we'll think about exploratory sugery.

Does this seem like an appropriate course of action? Should I have the Tenn. panel run before surgery? (Would you?)
