We have had great success with turkey (or chicken) Gerber Baby Food #2
for ferrets who will not eat do to being picky to an illness or before
antibiotics take effect. Make sure the ferret is drinking plenty of
fluids or your vet will have to give him sub q fluids. Usually a
blockage will show narrow stools but most of your symptoms imply gastric
problems.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME?
MY FERRET JUST RECENTLY STARTED TO LOSE WEIGHT WITHIN THE LAST WEEK- I
NOTICED HE WASN'T EATING HIS REGULAR KIBBLE(DRY)FOOD.
HE STILL ACTS PLAYFUL,BUT HE'S LOST OVER A POUND.THE VET DIDN'T FIND
ANYTHING WRONG WHEN HE TESTED STOOL SAMPLE- THIS IS NOT LIKE HIM- THE
ONLY THING NOTICABLE IS A LIITLE BIT OF DIAHARREA.
HE USUALLY EATS ALOT MORE,AND I'VE TRIED DIFFERENT PET FOODS INCLUDING
CANNED CAT FOOD- HE USUALLY LOVES HIS DRY CAT FOOD-NOW I CAN'T GET HIM
TO TOUCH IT! THE ONLY THING HE'LL EAT ARE GRAPES AND GRANOLA BAR WHICH I
ONLY USUALLY GIVE HIM FOR A TREAT. THE VET JUST PUT HIM ON ANTIBIOTICS-
IT'S BEEN ABOUT 2 DAYS SINCE THEN AND HE STILL WON'T EAT. I'M REALLY
SCARED,BECAUSE HE LOOKS ALOT THINNER. I DID ADD VITAMINS TO HIS WATER- I
TRIED GIVING HIM THAT FERRETVITE-BUT HE HATES IT- HE'S NOT LIKE MOST
FERRETS,HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY PICKY ABOUT FERRET FOODS & TREATS- IS IT
POSSIBLE HE MIGHT HAVE A HAIRBALL? BECAUSE HE'S BEEN SHEDDING ALOT
LATELY- CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP-?
