A former roommate of mine had something similar going on with one of her
ferrets--losing all the whiskers just on one side of her head. She couldn't
figure out why on earth this would be happening, til one night as she
watched her two ferret girls cuddling, she noticed that one had decided to
become a hairdresser and was trimming off the whiskers on the other! Just
on the one side though, guess she was going for a Cyndi Lauper mid-80s look.
Eventually that phase passed and poor Errata could grow her whiskers back.
So you might want to see if you have any budding beauticians...

“Is that my business? Well, what is my business? Do I know? Did I ever
know? Let’s not go into that. You’re not human tonight, Marlowe. Maybe I
never was or ever will be... Maybe we all get like this in the cold
half-lit world where always the wrong thing happens and never the right.
