Subject: possible intestinal blockage?

Hello all. I searched the past emails and couldn't quickly find answers so decided to try emailing.
We have a four year old female who is healthy and happy, quite active and rambunctious and lives up to the name of Rascal. While eating tonight, she suddenly started violently
throwing up; what looked like could be blood at one point. If she has a blockage, would there be other symptoms right away?
We realize she just could be having a reaction to something she ate. There are no ferret knowledgable vets within a couple of
hours that we could call in an emergency. We have been lucky so far in the last 9 years not to have any emergencies.
We know that if she stops eating and drinking, pooping, ect. to take her to the vet. But what else should we look for besides dehydration? I realize it could be nothing, but I admit to being a worrier.
Thanks for listening. Steve and Becky McMall, Altus, Oklahoma
