I have a healthy happy 1 yr old ferret. I am planning a trip for the next 2
weeks. I have hired a teenage girl to watch my baby. She is a freind of my
son's. She is a wonderful person, but, she has never had a ferret before.
I don't see this as a really big problem, because he's my first ferret, and
I've managed not to make him sick. So I think she can handle it for 2
weeks. I have made of list of everything that he normally gets, and when.
I am providing her with his normal cage, litter, food, bedding and treats.
My question is this. What else should I do? I'm very attached to this
little fellow, and I want to do right by him. Taking him with me is not an
option. I am going overseas, on about a 30 hr, each way, trip. I want him
to be safe, happy and well cared for. I'm feeling really guilty about
leaving him, but I have to go. Any suggestions on how to help him be
comfortable while I'm gone? Oh, he has no toys that he has attached to. I
have given him several things to play with, but he isn't interested in them.
He is very fond of toilet paper, tp rolls (empty), and of course, trash
cans.(apparently it's great fun to just tip them over, as he never plays
with the contents!?).
Thanks,
Shelley
