Dear Trish - Tough to tell what is going on here. Methotrexate, like other chemo agents is immunosuppressive, and can predispose to respiratory infections. Make sure that no one in your family has the flu, which may be given to a ferret and may be very serious in ferrets on chemo. Other contagious forms of respiratory disease are extremely unlikely.
with kindest regards,

She is doing great with the chemo and has adjusted to her meds well, but now she has a respiratory infection. Now she has to take liquid anitbiotics 3x a day in addition to her chemo meds. Does anyone know what may have caused a respiratory infection? Can it be contagious to my other ferts? I'm not able to call the dr. until next week as he out of the office until Mon. Otherwise all is well in ferretdom.
