Subject: Red spot on skin

My 3 yo male ferret had just had a tumor removed from his scruff last week and today I found a red spot in his ribs, this is not a lump like the one removed, it is just very red and the size of a pencil eraser, he had scratched it as he used to do with the lump he had in his neck. Could it be a different tumor? Anybody has seen this in their kids? I am very worried because he just had the surgery last week and I asked the vet to check all over his body to see if he coud find something else and he assured me that he was fine, and now less than a week from that I found he had scratched his skin in a different place.
