Subject: Pancreatic surgery, too late?

Hi,

A 5yr old male ferret recently was turned over to me. He has had insulinoma for at least a year and been maintained fairly well on pred. The pred is beginning to be less effective now. My question is would surgery at this point do him any good, since the consensus seems to be that the sooner to surgery the better? I know I can add Proglycem now, but was just wondering what others would do in this case. Is surgery at this stage of his illness worth it or not?
Thank you for your time.

Julie
