ANY ferret can lose fur during a seasonal shed (like in Autumn or Spring) or when the light levels markedly change.

Other than that, in 20 years with ferrets in our family we have had only one who lost fur in large swaths without soem form of adrenal neoplasia being involved, and sometimes that fur loss was th4 only symptom of an adrenal growth. The one who lost it never had the cause known, though perhaps it was simply due to being so ill or genetic. When she died of a more serious problem for which we were treating she had necropsy with pathology and her adrenal glands were normal.

Others have encountered fur loss with ring worm fungus, or with some parasites.

Don't disgard any of the options at this point in time unless you have had good exam and testing discount the last grouping. Yes, there might be an adrenal neoplasum.
