Subject: Styes and other eyelid growths on ferrets

We have noticed on one of Rockies eyes that the inner lids seem thicker
than the other eye. Its been that way for a long time if not his whole life.
But now, on that same eye, is a growth emerging. Its on his upper inner
lid. A tiny, tiny growth. Its been there for weeks. Can ferrets get styes?
If they did would it not be irritating or red (this is neither at all). I
was curious if any one else has encountered this. How closely should it be
watched (it looks very unassuming)?
When I ask questions here of this nature rather than a vet, its because
I like being prepared for the vets. They don't work on ferrets much, and
have little experience in this area. So we have to work together on dx and
treatment of things of sorts. :)
