As Sukie wrote, and as I have found in my little bit of research, apparently the "newer" studies are showing that 6 weeks of age is OK for the first distemper vaccination. I won't even get into off-label, since so much we do for/with our ferrets is off-label.

As for checking titer levels, I believe I read on this list, posted by one of the vets, that the acceptable titer levels for ferrets is not known. Did I read that here? Maybe early on after the FHL first started. I'll try to check back in the archives sometime soon.

How do you handle young ones who come into your shelter? Do you do 2 or 3 vaccinations? Have you had any success with titer checks?
