I am certainly not doubting Danee's knowledge on ADV. I would just like the references since I have always heard 12 weeks, not 2 weeks after weaning. It's the same reason I brought the distemper question here. I was told something that was new to me.

I wasn't aware that the time/age the tests could be given was different between United and Avecon. It's a combination of things. Besides, it's a little difficult to wait for the results of a blood test that has to be sent in when you have a stray, with no home, to deal with. I primarily use the Avecon POCT saliva tests before bringing them into my home. I'm never completely comfortable with the tests due to all of the differing opinions about them.

I'm not sure what you mean by compromising the ferret or who you talked to. If too few vaccinations are given, I would think that health could be compromised. I brought the discussion to this list. Here is the exact quote which prompted my bringing it to this list.

"If the first vaccine was given at MF it is before or at 6 weeks old and doesn't count."
