Can some furloss be due to stress? R.J. 5yr female is loosing her soft undercoat. She doesn't seem to have any thinning of guard hairs or over body. She does have loss on her tail;but has had rattail before. She eats good, has lots of energy, no swollen vulva, no excessive aggretion. She is getting ocassional diahrreah(sometimes yellowish,seedy,mucous) not everyday. her coat is rough looking. We just went through flea treatment shampoo and advantage. No more fleas so far. We have introduced 3 new ferrets, one in June. HE is an albino male(she doesn't seem to loke him much) The other 2 came a week ago and she seems fine with them.
Does anyone have any advice on this? I will be calling my vet real soon; but wanted opinions. i have been dealing with adrenal with my 6 yr female for 3 years and her symptoms were not like this. Weasel is currently on lupron and melatonin. Would the melatonin help r.j.? Sorry my keyboard isn't working properly. thank you eileen
