My reading of what the experts like Dr. Ruth Heller and Dr. Bruce
Williams said was that until the stomach is efficient enough in terms
of levels of stomach acid to not destroy antibodies there are some
lower levels that are acquired through breast milk, but the bulk is
from the colostrum and happens during the first 24 hours. I may be
putting this together wrong.
This leads to a question of my own. I was recently reading in a
write-up of geriatric dietary precautions that there are certain
physical markers that often go along with reduced immunity, but the
article was unclear whether these were all related through some
mechanism: weight lose, reduced immunity, and reduced levels of
stomach acid. I could see where poor digest could cause weight
lose. Unless I am befuddled about the kit stomach acid aspect this
sounds like a reversal in terms of stomach acid and the immune system
from what happens in infancy. Is there any known link beyond age
between immunity levels and levels of stomach acid?
