Talk about complete panic, found what seemed to be vomit all over the beddi=
ng on sevral floors of the cage. In one corner I also found a peice of yell=
ow balloon approx. 1/2" x 1 1/2" folded lenghtwise and covered inside and o=
ut with this vomit stuff. PANIC!!! got all 4 babies out to see who this mig=
ht have been and roused them all to waking up. about 10 minutes later, Raz =
my dark sable boy was throwing up. We immediately called the vet and he sai=
d that he probably tried to eat the piece of balloon and his system rejecte=
d it, hence the vomiting. I'm scared to death of losing this lap baby of a =
boy. My vet is ferret knowledgeable but I guess I'm seeking reassurance els=
ewhere. He will drink water and he ate about 3 cc's of chicken baby food la=
st night but he seems to be so sleepy and doesn't even want to get out of t=
he hammie but long enough to go downstairs to the box and pee. I have not s=
een him have a bowel movement yet this am, but I think I will put him in th=
e pet taxi with a litter box, food, water and bedding to watch and make sur=
e he has a BM. I have given 2-inch long ribbons of laxatone (per the vet to=
help anything else that he didn't puke up come out the other way) and abou=
t 1/8 to 1/4 tsp of ferretone(split up into 2 doses). The vet said that if =
he doesn't have a BM by this afternoon and stops eating ot drinking to brin=
g him back in. What else can I do to help him, he looks so sad and all he d=
oes is just lay there(so unusual, he's the most rambunctous (sp?) boy of al=
l time)
Suzanne the very worried fert mommie!!
