I had Garrett who was diagnosed with asthma and allergies and was on 0.1cc of
theophylline (sorry I don't remember the dosage but it was in a thick paste
almost like vaseline) twice daily...and I had injectible breathin for when he
was having an attack...he did quite well for about 1.5 years (he had multiple
other problems - insulinoma, adrenals and cardiomyopathy - he passed at 5.5
years of age).

IIRC, Theophylline is used extensively in cats and people for asthma
treatments.
