Hello,
Annika is doing better, she has been receiving Sub-Q fluids and has "perked=
-up" quite a bit. It seems very strange, one minute she is at death's door=
and the next she is better. She is eating (still hand feeding, but not fo=
rcing) a combination of chicken and broth baby food mixed with water and En=
sure Plus. My vet has suggested an ultrasound, but says that they probably=
won't get a diagnosis and that she is not a good candidate for exploratory=
surgery. The problem with the ultrasound is that it would have to be done=
in another city, which involves several hours of driving and a three hour =
ferry trip. Considering how sick she has been I am not thrilled with the i=
dea of putting her through a long trip. I don't know what to do with her, =
or my vets who seem to be at their wits ends as well. All antibiotics have=
been stopped, she is happily taking 0.5cc of Pepto two or three times a da=
y and again seems to be developing a healthier appetite. Has anyone had su=
ccess with ultrasounds as a diagnostic tool, the ADV test will not arrive u=
ntil friday night, which means it is still possible that she has it. Thank=
you in advance
Jenn
