Alright, let's assume that this individual is telling you the truth about her feeding schedule (Which I'm a bit suspicious of, anyway).

Perhaps she's not feeding them enough food per feeding. Perhaps they are only getting a minimal amount of food per ferret. I've seen some of the bowls that people have mistakenly used, and they're only big enough for most hamsters.

Assuming that that isn't the case, then perhaps this food isn't 'sticking with' them. I've never heard of the stuff, personally, as my ferrets are fed 8 in 1+ Ultimate/BARF treats, and scattered meaty treats. My suspicion is that these ferrets, if all info is on the up and up, just weren't getting the amount of nutrition that their bodies needed. An animal- including humans- could eat all day, and if the nutrition/calories needed isn't there, then they're going to be fairly thin.

Oh, yes, and I'm not a vet, this is just taken from my own experiences with several 'rescue' animals through my life.
