Kit got progressively worse on walking-not wanting to walk yesterday, but c=
ontinued to drink. Today I took her to the vet. On the way there I got to=
thinking about a mosquito I saw in here, got worried about West Nile. . V=
et had me put her down and she was so hunched up walking, plus she'd dehydr=
ated on me since yesterday. She was drinking fine yesterday! Anyway, x-ra=
y shows possible herniated disk. He did blood work tonight, gave her a rea=
lly strong pred type shot, and we take her back out tomorrow and he's going=
to run bloodwork all day, to make sure it's not encephalitis. He was worr=
ied it was an embolism, but since the x-ray we're thinking back injury, plu=
s she had perfect reactions to his nerve test. I'm going to modify that bl=
asted tube cage to ladders before she goes back in it. If it is her back i=
t'll be 4-6 weeks before it's healed, no problem on that. I'll just keep =
her in the one level cage I have her in right now. Will be making sure she =
eats duck soup and chicken gravy all night, and it will accompany her there=
tomorrow.
