You're giving 0.9 mg three times a day, which works out to 2.7 mg per day. I have heard of others giving much more than 2 mg/kg twice a day with good results, but I can't say this is recommended.
Forgive erros. It's an asthma day.
On phone calls years ago the authors said that they no longer consider there to eb a maximum dose, and Dr. karen Purcell said somethig similoar in a past post.
We have had multiple ones one doses much igher, with max determined per individual.
Things ot worry about with high doses mostly as stomach upset and ulcderation, but evenin one with a past of firable small intestines did not ulcerate, though otrhers might.
I'd advise a search of the archives (selcet the bold rpint on the homepage og the FHL), and a call to textbook authors to check fo vets dont' step in with infop. Kathy Quesenberry is at eh AMC in NYC (Manhattan).
When meds no longer hold insulinoma (at doses much igher that were emntioned) then suger canbe added to the diet to give evenmore good time.
