Keera, my 7 yr. old babygirl has had multiple surgeries but is overall in good health.

On Friday, she was diagnosed with early kidney disease...but everything the doctor told me went in one ear and out the other since later in the day, her cagemate and best friend of 7years died on the operating table.

I am still in shock of the loss of Fezzik, but I am in shock but I am trying to do what is best for Keera and the other ferrets.

If anyone can point me in the direction of where to find info on how to help a grieving ferret, I would appreciate it very very much.

I see a lot of information on the internet but it all seems to be random opinions, I don't know whose to trust - I just dont' want to do the wrong thing. They were so close...

I chose to let the other ferrets and keera say goodbye to Fezzik before we buried him. I think it was the right choice as they all sniffed him for a while or tried to clean his ears. They all know something is up...but what now?

Keera is sniffing around for him, looking, I think.
I am giving her hugs and extra attention but what else can I do? Should I leave things with his scent around? Would this just confuse her? Should I make sure to remove his scent from the spot where he sleeps on the carpet or is it helpful to her. The last thing I want to do right now is cause littleKeera any pain.

Thank you for any help you can send my way
