The logical step is to do an ultrasound to find out how bad the heart is, and then to go from there. If the vet needs to do so then a consultation with a veterinary cardiologist who knws vets is in order. There are some listed in places like the compilation on A/V Heart NOde Block iin the Files ection at hte FHL website.

Why remove the Furosemide instead of just trying a different dose?

I really think that is sounds like the expertise of a veterinary cardiologist is in order -- in aidrect communication with your vet so that they can discuss the case clearly, and the consultations we've had for Sevie have cetainly not cost much and been worht much more in terms of her qulaity and quantity of life.
