I'm sorry if this is a duplicate post- I think I sent to the wrong address
the first time.
My brother's roommate brought home a ferret he found running loose last
week. He knocked on doors in the neighborhood, but no one claimed to know
anything about a missing ferret. He kept it in a tiny cage for a 2-3 days,
feeding it saltine crackers, before he decided to tell me about it and ask
for help.
On Monday, I went to see the poor thing. She's a very thin, dirty, flea
infested, female mf albino. I gave her a bath, a dose of advantage, and set
her up in a larger cage with litterbox and ferret food.
Tonight she looks better. She tested negative on the avecon adv quickcheck.
She's very playful and friendly. Eyes are bright, no discharge from eyes or
nose. The guy who found her wants me to take her and give her a home, but I
want to be sure I've taken all precautions, and keep my five ferrets safe
and healthy.
Her ears look very clean- so I'm sure she doesn't have mites
She no longer has fleas.
She's adv negative.
She has been in captivity since Friday, Oct 4th, and is showing no signs of
illness.
Is this a long enough quaratine? Should I bring her home, or is there
anything I'm missing?
thanks for taking the time to read my long post
