With kidney failure Bob's Chicken Gravy would be way too high in
protein levels. About the only things that are balanced and low
enough in protein levels are some specialized foods available from
vets IF my memory is correct. I believe that Hills k/d stands for
kidney diet and is specifically formulated for these needs, but am
not sure so ask your vet. (If so it is the descendent of the food
first formulated by vet Dr. Morris of NJ for a seeing eye dog named
Buddy, and the purchase of the formula by Hills later funded for
perpetuity the administrative costs of the Morris Animal Foundation,
now in CO, which works to improve veterinary knowledge.)

Prescription foods are available only from vets.
