Subject: animal fat vs. vegetable fat

Does it matter whether the source of fat in ferret food is derived from an animal or vegetable source? I know the protein should be animal, but how about the fat? I was thinking about trying out the Wellness kitten food which contains canola oil instead of chicken fat.
