Melissa,

I agree that she should not be in this amount of pain after this long - most
of my splenectomies have been moving around quite happily after only two to
three days (or would have, had they been allowed to). My concern is with
this "lump of necrotizing tissue". To my mind, the possibility of an
inflammatory process continuing or worsening after surgery has to be very
high on the list, and peritonitis is up there too. It's time to get her
rechecked, and to think about either doing an ultrasound or possibly opening
her back up to see exactly what's going on here. Certainly ulcers are
something to think about, but don't get focused so much on that that other
things slip by the wayside.
