Subject: Symptons after insulinoma surgery - question

Princess had insulinoma surgery last tues. The vet said he found a definite lump on the pancreas that was then removed, but the pathology tests have come back "inconclusive". That was in a phone call - he mentioned something about it showing pancreatisis, and something about fat i think.

She seemed to be recovering from the surgery quite well - not eating much, but definitly eating, (and stashing her toy mice!)

But since Sunday, she has shown symptons again - she has some weakness in the hind end (falling over), Occassionaly she stops eating, rocks backwards and forwards for a moment, then continues eating as though nothing is wrong. Also, she is poking her tongue in and out.

None of these symptons is as marked as before the surgery, but I was quite upset to see them. I understood that another tumour could grow in time, but I thought the surgery was a cure for the one she had.

We have a follow up visit tomorrow. What should i be discussig with the vet?

I have got some pred from the vet (before the surgery)- in a tablet form, not liquid - but I'm not sure whether I should be giving it to her now.

She was eating mushed up Iams kitten food. For the last few days she is eating mushed up boiled chicken mixed with Iams Kitten food. She has also helped herself to the dry kibble at times.

She's on antibiotics - "baytril" (she hates the taste)
