My ferret Kayla is the one with the mast cell tumors. We have her on prednisolone, 1/4 tablet every day for 3 days and then every other day. The vet had said that keeping her on prednisolone for a prolonged period of time may lead to adrenal gland disease. Is this true? He said he wasn't sure but he has heard of it. Because I know that the pred won't take away the tumors but will hopefully lessen them. So I was wondering, if we do get good results from these pills, will we be able to eventually take her off the pills or will they come back at full force if we do?
