Subject: Hind end weakness after adrenal surgery

Just had a ferret have scheduled adrenal surgery. All of left gland was
removed & most of right. This ferret was not able to stand after surgery,
nor have any control over the hind end. The vet said it was a fairly common
occurrence after adrenal surgery. I have had 5 other ferrets have adrenal
surgery & none of them ever had this. Is it common? What causes it?
