I'd say yes, if there's any part of the gland left, it could still be a problem. I had the same thing with Penny. She had her left completely removed and most of her right. Her symptoms (hair loss) never went into remission. I waited six months to be sure then started her on Lupron.

When we first started using Lupron a number of years back, it was said that once mixed, the Lupron had to be stored in liquid nitrogen or it would quickly lose its effectiveness. Since then, I know several vets that store it in a standard freezer, and that seems to work for a month or so at least. That's the way my vet does it and the Lupron mine got there worked just fine. But they go through it rather quickly so it isn't stored this way for long.

I would say that it should be mixed and premeasured into syringes and stored that way, and that's the way my vet stores it. But if you're storing it for one ferret, some of the premixed syringes will probably be stored longer than a month and the Lupron may become ineffective at some point in time. Exactly how long it can be stored this way is unknown to me.
