Herby and Tasha are our new kids. Arrived Sept 14 from the spca. They both =
had slight colds; but cleared up now. They were quaranteened from my other =
3 for 10 days.
Now my problem. Herby is about 2 1/2 male. almost 3 lbs. The first trip to=
the vet showed a fungal infection. Was treated with Malaseb shampoo twice.=
then back to vet to check for earmites(negative) then she checked for ring=
worm, also came up negative. He has been bathed a few more times with the s=
hampoo; but after a few days the orangness and reddish black dots return. I=
t's mainly on his face, from his ears to his nose and around his eyes. After=
the last bath it seems to be going under his chin. Small round circles of =
skin he scratched off. Could he still have ringworm even if tested neg? Wha=
t else could we try? The vet mentioned maybe something like program(but the=
y don't have it at their office) None of the rest of the ferrets are sho=
wing it. Even Tasha the 10month old that came with him. He seems healthy an=
d has a beautiful coat other than his face. I might be my imaginenation; bu=
t his head smells a little funny. I clean his ears daily and it's not an ex=
cessive amount. He is very mellow and doesn't mind the baths.
