Connie, this is a guess and ONLY a guess, so, please, don't give it
any more weight than that, but perhaps your vet figures that the
enlarged areas are not just fat but may be nodes that are up and that
the ferret may have lymphoma/lyphosarcoma which has taken up house in
one or more of these organs. You may want to ask the vet directly
about that and be sure to allow the vet to send out samples for
pathology (always a good thing to do!).
